Galatians 6:2 (NLT) says: Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. Paul's letters to the churches in Galatia followed the central theme of showing how Jesus died to take upon himself the curse and consequences of humanity's failure, bringing redemption. Paul's letters teach an essential lesson of sharing the load. In sports, we share the load with our teammates, and when we falter, they are there to help us get back on track. Likewise, golfers hire a caddy when they want someone else to carry their clubs. In our spiritual walk, Jesus is the ultimate teammate, carrying our regret, shame, guilt and sadness. Have you made a habit of stepping up to share someone's load? Being a Christian doesn't mean you'll never have time for yourself. It means widening the scope of your interests to include others. Selfishness refuses to include others and laments every occasion when one's personal time or space is breached. But God asks for a different response. His love is for all people everywhere, and He's in the business of saving lives and transforming hearts. As you enter your work as a chaplain, remember that He shares everyone's burdens and asks us to do the same for others. #encouragement #scripture #chaplaincy
