I read 14 books last year. I know this because I track them on Goodreads through the Reading Challenge, where you set a goal for the number of books you hope to read in the coming year. My goal for 2024 was 12 books, up from 8 for 2023. Here are the books I read in 2024 - Heaven is a World of Love by Jonathan Edwards - Elon Musk by Walter Isaacson - Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator of Nike by Phil Knight - Revenge of the Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell - Low Anthropology – By David Zahl - The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis - The After Party: Toward Better Christian Politics by Curtis Chang - A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles - A Grief Observed by C.S. Lewis - Once Upon A Time by Sam Blumenthal - CASKET EMPTY: Old Testament Study Guide by Carlo Kaminski - Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby - Rise and Kill First: The Secret History of Israel’s Targeted Assassinations by Ronen Bergman There are some books on the list I am really glad I read, some not so much. My top books for the year are: - Anything by C.S. Lewis – no matter how many times I have read them - Elon Musk – even though it was over 600 pages long and a little repetitive, the book gave a great look into this brilliant, broken man. - Low Anthropology – gave me some great insights into myself and our culture and how we view ourselves and other people. - A Gentleman in Moscow – if you don’t want to read the book, watch the mini-series. Both are really good. I have been doing this Reading Challenge since 2018. This was the first year I ever exceeded my goal. While I felt good about that fact, there are books not on that list that I wish I would have read in 2024. In 2025, I am going to do something I have never done before regarding this challenge. I want to list those books I want to read this year ahead of time, rather than just reacting to the reading that is put in front of me, for instance by the Book Club I am in. What book did you read in 2024 that you would recommend?
