“Can I pray for you?” A couple of weeks ago Univ. of Texas played Arizona State in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Football Championships. It was a close game that went to Double Overtime. Texas ended up winning ending Arizona State season which meant it was last college game for star running back Cam Skattebo. This guy was battling injuries and stomach issues to give his all in the game and carried them to the overtime. After the game, Texas Freshmen Nick Sanders greeted Cam like most players do after games. But instead of just saying good game , he asked Cam if he could pray for him. They immediately knelt right there on the field and Nick prayed for Cam. Prior to the prayer Cam was sad and visibly upset. After the prayer although still upset you could see his emotions change a bit. This situation blessed me so much as a freshman who is 4 years younger than this senior and less of a name step out in boldness and asked if he could pray . He simply wanted to offer support and comfort. It’s been really cool to see how many young men in Football this year publicly proclaim their love for Jesus and not just talk about it but act it out. How many times in our ministries has this happened? Do we step out in this boldness? It’s easy to pray for others when someone offers to pray but do we simply ask in advance Can I pray for you. If you have a moment/experience that you wouldn’t mind sharing a powerful touching example of this, please share in the comments. These moments of share can inspire encourage others to do the same .
